Tilburg University has several study associations. Study associations are aimed at students from 1 or a select number of studies. The study associations of Tilburg University are:

Asset

The study association Asset was founded in 2008 through a merger of various study associations. The study association has members who are following a course at the School of Economics and Management. Courses within this faculty include business economics and econometrics. Members can contact Asset for help with the study chosen by the students. In addition, this study association tries to prepare its members for the future by introducing students to potential employers.

Master JFT

Magister JFT was founded in 2002. The association was created through a merger of various associations. The association has retained many traditions of the original associations. This study association focuses on students who are following a course at the Tilburg Law School. Members of Magister JFT can participate in both study-related and social activities.

ELSA

ELSA stands for European Law Students Association. The association was founded in Vienna in 1981. This study association is for all law students throughout Europe. In the Netherlands there are 8 locations of the association, namely in Tilburg, Nijmegen, Amsterdam, Leiden, Rotterdam, Maastricht, Groningen and Utrecht. Academic and personal development are central to this association. Members also have the opportunity to build an international network.

Four-sharp

Both students and teachers at Tilburg Law School can join the Vierschaar study association. The members of this association are interested in legal history. Activities organized by this association will always be related to aspects of legal history.

Complex

The study association complex is for all psychology students at Tilburg University. Students affiliated with Complex can participate in activities that help students with their studies, provide relaxation after studying or offer the opportunity to delve deeper into the material. Students who join Complex can choose how actively involved they are in the association. There are various committees that members can join and these committees all have a different duration and time pressure.

Input

The study association Input is aimed at students from the Bachelor’s programs in Personnel Sciences and Human Resource Studies and the Master’s program in Human Resource Studies. Input has existed since 1987 and this study association offers its members a wide range of activities, such as workshops, company visits and conferences. The aim of the Input association is that students are well prepared for the future after their education.

Policy

Students who are studying Organizational Sciences or Global Management of Social Issues can become a member of the Polis study association. The association has existed since 1991. In addition to study-related activities, the association also offers social activities. All activities ultimately ensure that the affiliated students can develop optimally during their study time.

Versot

Sociology students can join the study association Versot. Teachers of sociological subjects can also join the association. This study association has existed since 1989. The sociology study is a relatively small course and that is why the study association has few members. However, the members generally have a close bond with each other. The Versot association organizes both educational and relaxing activities.

Animo

The study association Animo is for students who are following the bachelor’s or master’s degree in Online Culture: Art, Media and Society. Animo helps its members with their studies by, for example, arranging discounts on required study books. Animo also organizes social activities such as foreign trips. By participating as a member in the organized activities, students can develop in various areas.

Extra Muros

Students who follow the Liberal Arts & Sciences course can become a member of the study association Extra Muros. The association was founded in 2008. Extra Muros organizes formal and social activities. The aim of this study association is mainly for students to develop outside their student life.

Flow

The study association Flow was founded in 2002. Students from the Communication and Information Sciences, Cognitive Sciences & Artificial Intelligence and Data Science & Society courses can become members of Flow. The aim of the association is to make the lives of their members easier by organizing educational and social activities.

Sapientia ludenda

The study association Sapientia Ludenda is simply called Sapi by the members of the association. The wisdom that plays should mean the words Sapientia Ludenda. The association has existed since 2001. The study association is aimed at students studying Philosophy. Sapi organizes educational and fun evenings where guest speakers inform members about philosophical topics.

Student associations

In addition to study associations, there are also student associations. Student associations have members who follow different types of studies. Furthermore, student associations only organize social and not educational activities.

I*ESN

The student association I*ESN is a student association that aims to integrate international students in the Netherlands. Both foreign students and Dutch students who are internationally oriented can become members of the association. Activities that I*ESN mainly organizes are aimed at fun and showing international students the ropes. Since 2011, this student association has had its own pub in the center of Tilburg called Carpe Noctem.

St. Olof

St. Olof is the oldest student association in Tilburg and has existed since 1927. Because St. Olof has been around for a very long time, the association has many traditions. The association has many different committees, fraternities and student houses. St. Olof offers its members a wide range of activities such as social, community and cultural activities.

TSR Vidar

TSR Vidar or Vidar for short is a student rowing club and was founded in 1961. The club has its own training complex in Tilburg and is very focused on presenting. Some former members of the association have participated in the Olympic Games in the past. In addition to the pressure to perform, there is also room for fun after the training.

TSV Plato

Plato was founded in 1987 and the core values of the association are equality, diversity and openness. Members of Plato can participate in committees, year clubs, fraternities and societies. Plato has its own society in the center of Tilburg where parties, dinners and meetings are organized.
