Warm winter fabrics

When winter comes into the picture, we are busy making ourselves beautiful and making our home cozy. This includes warm, rich fabrics, both in the home and with what we dress with. We shut out the cold outside world for a while and concentrate on the beautiful things inside.

Substances

The fact that the warm, rich fabrics are more for winter has, in addition to the warm aspect, a powerful and rich (in a literal sense) feeling. The fabrics are often more luxurious and softer and the combination of winter with a financially less period means that we focus more on that.
After all, there has to be a nice place where you can shut out the big bad human world and something better than yourself and your own home. So we adapt the materials accordingly and in addition to the new materials we combine it with warmer colors in the winter.

What’s there?

It is an open statement that the brown shades do well in autumn and winter. It is almost inextricably linked and perfectly elaborates on the soft beige and earth tones that we have already seen in the summer. This makes the transition a bit calmer and certain items of clothing can still be combined with each other. Think of a nice thick wool cardigan over a thin blouse or sweater.

Living

The living trends that are being devised are closer together than before. That’s a good thing, because it also makes the financial picture a bit more attractive. A living room can often be tackled with a subtle difference.

The warm, rich fabrics such as wool, velvet and bond (of course not real!) work well in the different shades of brown. What makes it a little more playful is the combination with a more striking color. And that color is easy to pick from your own preference spectrum. For example, the various showrooms show a combination of shades of blue in the form of cushions, rugs and carpet. Various shades of blue that are in the deep colors, but also the striking ones that lean more towards turquoise.

Another combination that is often seen is the one with purple, the lavender color. This is slightly less hard than turquoise, but does bring out the deep brown colors more. Here too, different color shades are possible, and even wallpaper in this color is not avoided.

A bit warmer? Then combine the brown with deep orange and warm yellow tones. With this combination it seems as if the colors transition effortlessly from brown to yellow. Combine it in your home with one aspect that is a bit harder yellow to bring out the colors a little more (and this can be in the form of some velvet cushions or a painting where the main color is yellow).

Clothing

If you look at the brown clothing (wool, velvet, satin) this will be a disappointment for some people. Because, for example, the spring type does not care much for these soft colors, but can be improved by wearing something in a hard primary color at the neck. Blue is a good example of this.

If brown is not your thing, you will also see different shades of gray appearing in the clothing. Shades of gray that come directly from black or shades of gray that still carry a hint of brown. The gray is more suitable for a combination with, for example, deep red or a bright color such as sea green.

For those who love black, this is always there, because it is almost a universal color for winter. If you want to bring in the fashion aspect a little more, combine the black with two shades of brown. The high suede boot in deep brown is often seen (cool with a low heel or feminine with a high heel) and goes well with black trousers and a black wool jacket. A shiny brown blouse (in the same color as the boots) underneath and your combination is finished and fashionable.

Finally

Creativity has been of paramount importance in recent years, both in home trends and clothing trends. Every time some new aspects are added, which also means that you can choose from all kinds of colors and materials. By adding some small aspects to your home or wardrobe, the bill remains limited and you can vary it.
Perhaps too much for some people to make a choice. What can help is to start by putting away what it really isn’t (color and material) and slowly peel back those options down to the few colors and materials you like best.
