Back to basic

Also popularly said, because it sounds better, “Back to Basic”. You can philosophize about it all you want and that happens frequently. After all, everyone has their own opinion about it. Whether it is the age of Aquarius that drives people or it is the severe crisis, people start thinking about the essence of life. It is certain that it is a time of change and back to basics

Change

Strictly speaking, people are not change-oriented, scientific figures vary from 75% to 95% of humanity is not interested in change. Of these, there is a large group that does follow and only about 10% that dig in their heels at all costs. Often not even for a logical reason.
This also means that the limited group that welcomes change, not so much for the change but for the improvement, takes the lead. This is the case everywhere and always, even when you look back at changes that have taken place in the past. History is a good indicator for the future and with a bit of luck one can learn from previous mistakes.

Reason for change

The reason for change is usually something drastic, just think of a war. In addition to the reconstruction after a war, people always start with the idea that now we are going to do things differently and sometimes that is the case. Not always, that is also clear from the history books. Because many people sooner or later fall back into old habits.
All this does not alter the fact that it does not hurt for people to at least think about why things go the way they do . Some believe in coincidences and others don’t, but what matters is that you try to get to the essence.

The essence

With a bit of luck (and wisdom) people get to the essence of what matters, but that is not for everyone. However, if you want to give it a try, you can do it for yourself and try to come up with answers to your own questions. Yet a philosophy group is often useful to make progress. On the one hand to allow other opinions to come to you and on the other hand to further shape your own train of thought. Some why and what questions you can review. There are no wrong answers, only honest answers.

  • Why do things go the way they do?
  • Why is something intense often a moment for change?
  • Why do people (or you) take a wrong turn somewhere?
  • What makes the individualistic society more pleasant to live in? (compared to before)
  • What can I do (or should I do) to change?
  • What is the added value of the individual?
  • What is the added value of a group (family, collective, community, etc.)
  • Why do so many become out of balance?

Of course, not all questions can be answered simply, but it can make you think. Thinking about life, thinking about the essence and back to basics

What is it all about in the end?!

And then…

Now it may just be that there are people who say, where does philosophy take us? Fear of change can be a driving force to not even want to think about the previously asked questions (or others with the same essence).

Life’s questions can always bring you new insights and it does not matter whether it is after an intense event or not. The basics of life that matter are something we all ultimately work toward as we move toward adult life. Yet a large group of people take a different turn somewhere in life than originally planned. Not always wrong, just different. The other thing may have consequences that do not fit into the original plan and you may lose the essence without realizing it. Money is often a basis that can blur the essence.
Interim reflection is not wrong and above all, do not be deterred by the consequences it may have.

Finally

Back to Basic is back to basics and you can do that in many ways or at least get the train of thought going. Don’t change for the sake of change, but think about what really makes you happy, what life is really about and how you want to (continue to) shape that.
