A next step in life

Some people believe that someone has ended up in a midlife crisis, and that may be true to some extent, but there is also a group of people who actually want to take the next step in life. It is therefore not surprising that this happens during a period when you have already acquired the necessary life wisdom. It is not always a vague matter if you want to take such a next step.

Radical

For quite a few people, this process takes place after they have experienced something drastic. It could be anything, but something that has certainly had an impact on the person in question. As if a door is suddenly open that makes you realize that there is more to the daily hustle and bustle of life. Where is the depth of life, who are you really as a person, but also your immediate environment and then it naturally follows where your added value lies, who you really are, etc. These are all questions that arise at a time when you realize that there may be more to life. This does not mean that you want to undermine your current life or lose weight, just a deepening step, a next step in life.

To work

When the realization is there, you have made a start. But then there usually follows a search for that which provides that depth and that can sometimes become difficult. After all, when you go looking, it is rare that you immediately find what you are really looking for. In fact, many people do not even know at the moment of realization what that next step in life is / should be.
Some people seek help in the form of a therapist, while others look for it themselves. Nothing is right or wrong. You simply look for the way that suits you best. One method that is increasingly being used is to try to get the most out of yourself in peace. This also works well to take the hectic pace out of your body. Below are some of the ways, such as:

  • Nature – Nature has a healing effect and that may not sound very concrete in this context, but it does work. When you consciously walk in nature, your body and mind connect directly with nature, as it were. You feel, see, smell and hear everything more clearly, which makes you more aware of everything and can contribute to that next step in life. Use these quiet, clear moments to ask yourself the important questions.
  • The Balloon – You can physically get into it or, if you have strong visualization skills, visualize yourself in it and floating above a favorite area. These can be beautiful mountains, but also the flat land or the lavender fields in the south of France. The idea is that you look sharply at the smallest details. Both when it becomes the physical flight, but also during a visualization. The point is that you sharpen your brain, so to speak, and open it up to deeper issues.
  • The inner landscape – Your inner landscape is you, what is really going on inside you. What really lives inside you, what makes you warm, what scares you, what makes you want to go for something, etc. Questions that are best asked in a quiet environment. There should be no people there for a while, because you ask yourself questions for which you may not have the answers right away. That requires concentration and absolute honesty with yourself.
  • The meditation moment – Some people can do it well and others cannot, but if you take the time and rest you can also go into silence. Supreme concentration and clearing your head, that is meditation at its core. Let your high thoughts (which pretty much keep you busy throughout the day) float past with the clouds and dive into yourself. But first and foremost, utmost concentration is important, then you can ask yourself “questions” that have to do with your life path.

What is it ultimately about?

There are more options in line with the above topics, but they all relate to the (life) questions you have to ask yourself. In general, it is not a matter of asking yourself a question and giving yourself an answer. After all, if it were that simple, you would have done it already.

The next step in life is not leaving everything behind, but adding something that enriches your life. Sometimes it means saying goodbye to people who don’t give you energy but drain you and sometimes you just run into new nice people through your new lifelines. Be open to it, experience it, be honest and see what life brings you if you do not want to desperately maintain control over life, but give new initiatives a chance.

Time

If answers slowly come your way and they will come, only then can you decide for each answer how to deal with it. Which path you will follow and which path you will not follow. But at least give the process enough time. If rushing is something that rarely goes well, it is here.

Finally

Only when you really give yourself the space to grow as a person can you take the next steps on your life path. It enriches you and is a beautiful process!
