Some people think Mother’s Day is commercial nonsense and others love it. Honoring mother in any way on a special day is something that appeals to you or it doesn’t. Of course, there is also the group of people who see it as a ,must,. It’s part of it and so we give mother a present. We often see breakfast in bed, flowers or chocolates, but there are also more original things that do not always cost a lot of money.
Origin Mother’s Day
Although we make it quite a commercial celebration nowadays, the worship of mothers has origins that go very far into the past. The rich classical Greece already had a day when mothers were venerated. Every culture has its own interpretation and just as Mother’s Day is the second Sunday in May in the Netherlands, this is not the case everywhere.
Worship
Worship can be done in different ways, but small children often make something themselves at school, for example, or in consultation with their father. Breakfast is sometimes arranged with father and father wants to buy something special for mother. The time when fathers gave household items is largely behind us. After all, the only thing you are emphasizing here is her task and not the worship that Mother’s Day originally is.
By the way, veneration has nothing to do with the size of the gift. Veneration is in the heart and can only be expressed with something fun, playful, classic, beautiful, etc.
Modern mothers
It is not surprising that you give your elderly mother a more traditional gift. However, if the mother is still active and in the middle of life, it may not be wrong to give something that is not the most obvious. Plenty of possibilities.
But today’s young(er) woman generally still likes flowers, flowers brighten up the house anyway, but when it comes to a nice gift, the box of chocolates is perhaps a bit too ordinary and not very thoughtful. Most women appreciate the attention value more than just an expensive gift that was picked from the store without any further thought.

Some possibilities and of course it depends on the activities of the woman in question:
Sporty
The gifts for sporty mothers are countless and if the little one is just starting to use the stroller, why not get a special stroller that she can take with her while running. There are special strollers, but you can also take a regular one. However, you do have to pay attention to a number of things. Always choose a tricycle with a high degree of stability, where the front wheel can be locked. The cart must be easy to push, otherwise it will not run smoothly.
But is there already a stroller or does she prefer to walk alone? There are very nice well-ventilated brightly colored shirts from the well-known brands Nike, Reebok, Adidas, etc., sometimes with a bra sewn into them. Typical women’s colors with maximum comfort and possibly supplemented with nice shorts.
For the sturdy walker, there is a special backpack that provides extra ventilation (so it doesn’t get sweltering on the back). Adidas, among others, has one in its range.
Fashionista
Giving the fashionista a piece of clothing or jewelry as a gift can be a sensitive issue. Because the real fashionista is a woman who actually knows exactly what she wants in this area. If you can ensure that she gets something that she really sees as an addition to her collection, then you are doing it right.
Less of a fashionista, but still want nice fashion items? The bright colors for this spring are wide, so there is an accessory for every woman that suits her. A nice scarf always goes well. Choose a natural material, which preferably does not wrinkle too quickly, and choose a large size scarf. The woman who does not wear the scarf around her neck or head can always wear it around her hips. Various shades of pink from quite hard to extremely soft in color or the sea green shades do very well. See if you can find a nice necklace or bracelet in the same color scheme (what does she wear most?) and it will be a nice set to give. Most partners don’t bother with shoes or bags and that’s a good thing, most women are even more specific about the bag or shoes than about the clothes. There is a good chance that you will give a gift that will remain in the closet forever and that is a shame.
If you know your partner very well and you know what makeup she uses, you can put together a nice makeup set. If you don’t know which brands she uses, just peek into her beauty case. These sets often look very festive and are something most women who use make-up like to receive. Of course, a scent is always possible, but here too you can be on thin ice if it is a new scent. What smells nice on the piece of paper in the store is not yet nice on the woman’s wrist or neck. This has to do with the acidity of the skin and can therefore have a very bad effect.

Spiritual
Spirituality is out of the question and that is good. We dare to admit that we are spiritual, or at least want to undergo a journey of discovery. If she is interested, there are an awful lot of booklets, CDs, DVDs, statues, rugs, pillows, candles, stones and more for sale. It is useful to know if she is a beginner, because then a booklet, CD or DVD on how to learn to meditate could be fun. Not so for the woman who is further along in the process and knows what she wants and needs. There are many meditation cushions available and what scent does she like? An oil burner with wonderfully scented oil or incense holder with scented incense can be a nice gift. Most stores with a wide range can be found on the internet. So take the delivery time into account!
To eat
If you want to give something tasty, you can always do so. Then see how you can beautifully package a simple box of chocolates. For example, buy a nice bonbonniere and place the chocolates on it. Wrap it in cellophane and tie a nice ribbon around it, so it looks extra festive.
If it is the woman who is often in the kitchen and/or enjoys cooking, there are all kinds of nice sets for sale, such as:

With the stock market closed
If you currently have no (complete) finances or you want to do it without money in principle, there are still plenty of options. After all, it has to come from within you and then a beautiful poem can do a lot or pack a picnic basket with some tasty things and take her to the forest, the sea or the city park. But if she is the one who does the housework, you can also give the weekend off and you are the one who does everything that needs to be done during the weekend (so don’t ask how or what, free is free!).
Finally
In short, there is more for sale than a flower or average utensil for the kitchen. Give your creativity some space, don’t leave it until the last minute and delve deeper into the woman in order to give the right gift. It does not always have to be expensive, but the attention value must be high.
