Crash course in palmistry

Palmistry (also called chiromancy) has been around for centuries. The word chiromancy is derived from the Greek word cheir (hand). In China and other Eastern countries, hands reading is still practiced to this day and the knowledge and technique is essentially unchanged. But palmistry is also popular in Western countries. Although the meaning of palmistry is questioned, it often turns out to be correct. Suggestion or not, palmistry is fun and easy to learn.

A crash course in palmistry?

Palmistry (also called chiromancy) is hip and yet it has been around for centuries. The word chiromancy is derived from the Greek word cheir (hand). In China and other Eastern countries, but actually everywhere in the world, hands reading is still practiced to this day and the knowledge and technology is essentially unchanged. Palmistry is also gaining popularity again in Western countries. In ancient times, a person’s future was predicted by reading the lines in the hand. Even today, there are still many palm readers that can read, based on lines in the hand, shape of the hand and fingers, dimensions of the hand and fingers, etc., how your character works and what you are like in general ( !) in your life or have already experienced

What is palmistry?

In palmistry it is assumed that the life and character of a person can ‘in a certain sense’ be read from the special characteristics of the hands, since hands are as unique as people themselves. However, palmistry involves much more than just studying and interpreting the lines in the hands and the hills and mountains in the hands. The term ‘crash course’ is therefore written with a wink. In this ‘course’ I therefore only provide a general overview of the basics of chiromancy. If you really want to become proficient in palmistry, you can consider an extensive, professional course/training at the School for Universal Palmistry.

Palmistry, a short course

One not only looks at the lines in a hand, one also looks at the shape of, and the hills on, the hand..
Shape of the hand
A narrow hand indicates shyness, modesty, but with perseverance and faithful service in work. A broad hand indicates good cooperation, social skills and sincerity.

Fingers under scrutiny

  • A short thumb, shorter than the average thumb, indicates: shyness.
  • A long thumb, longer than the average thumb, indicates: success in love and work.
  • People with long fingers (in relation to the palm of the hand) pay attention to small details.
  • People with short fingers (in relation to the palm of the hand) do not easily lose the overview.

Lines in the palm

There are four large lines in a palm. The top line is the heart line, the line immediately below the head line, the line that branches off from it around the ball of the mouse is the life line, and the line of fate, also called the fate line, runs from the bottom of the hand, slightly vertically upwards and slightly bisecting the palm. The following applies to all lines: if there are interruptions in the line, this means that there is impatience and/or obstacles.

Lifeline

  • A long uninterrupted lifeline? This indicates a long life and you will remain healthy
  • A short lifeline indicates declining energy after middle age
  • A thin blurred life line indicates health risks
  • A straight lifeline indicates loss of energy due to tension and/or inner restlessness.
  • A long, curved lifeline indicates that your body is able to defend itself well against diseases

Main line

  • A long, uninterrupted head line indicates great intellectual capacity.
  • A main line that rises like a river, in several branches (a kind of fork), indicates that you are dealing with someone who can express himself orally well.
  • A main line that does not end in branches indicates success.
  • A main line that is unsteady and slightly tortuous indicates a lack of concentration

To see how life has progressed according to the life line, read the line from the inside out. So you read the beginning of life inside the hand, and as you read the line further outwards, you ‘read’ further/deeper into the life of the owner of the hand. If there are interruptions at the beginning of the life line, this person did not have an easy childhood. If the line then continues firmly and sharply, then he/she has succeeded in overcoming these problems.

Heartline

  • If the heart line extends/branches, this indicates: a good balance between realistic and emotional matters.
  • A heart line that is clear and long indicates a person who can give a lot of love
  • If the space between the head and the heart line is narrow, the person is selfish and stingy
  • If the space between the head and heart line is wide, the person is generous and compassionate

When reading the center line, the era starts on the outside of the line and you look inward. The first thirty years of a life are important because they developed and molded a person into who they are ‘now’. Interruptions or weak spots in the lines reveal setbacks in love and/or health problems. If a line is interrupted, health problems may be due to unhappiness in love or stress.

The Destiny Line, also called the Saturn Line

The line of fate is sometimes difficult to see. It runs about the middle of the palm, straight up.

  • If the fate line is meandering, the person is (in fact) going through a difficult stressful period in his/her life
  • If the line of destiny is long and uninterrupted, then this person can look forward to a long and successful life
  • If the fate line is occasionally interrupted, this person has or will take a different path

Hills or mountains on hand

The hills and mountains are located on the bottom of the fingers and on the sides of the hand.

  • At the bottom of the index finger is the Jupiter Hill
  • At the bottom of the middle finger is the Saturn Hill
  • Apollo Hill is located at the bottom of the ring finger
  • The hill of Mercury is located at the bottom of the little finger
  • At the bottom of the thumb, on the heel of the hand, is the Mount of Venus
  • Above the wrist, opposite the Mount of Venus, is the Mount of the Moon

Jupiter Hill

  • A strongly developed Jupiter Hill indicates sufficient self-confidence and perseverance as well as a drive for success.

Saturn Hill

  • A strongly developed Saturn Hill indicates a lack of flexibility, these people can be somewhat inflexible in life. A Saturn Hill that is not too strongly developed indicates more flexibility, zest for life and enthusiasm.

Apollo Hill

  • People with a strongly developed Apollo Hill are creative and they like a well-groomed appearance. However: the higher the Apollo Hill, the more important the appearance. Sometimes the importance of outward appearance comes at the expense of inner depth.
  • However, if the Apollo Hill is barely developed, the person is lethargic and not very successful in pursuing goals, and this person does not enjoy life enough.

Mercury Hill

  • People with a strongly developed Mercury Hill are businesslike and successful in business professions. A weakly developed Mercury Hill indicates difficult verbal skills and a lack of business acumen.

The Venus Hill

  • If the Venus Hill is well developed and clearly rises above the other hand hills, then this person can give and receive love well.
  • If the Mount of Venus is high and convex, then this person can be very passionate in love, but not always loyal and/or loyal. A very high Mount of Venus can also indicate a tendency towards excessive use of certain stimulants, whereby natural needs such as food and sexuality can also be greater than average.

The Moon Hill

  • A strongly developed moon hill indicates success in science and a sense of artistic matters.
  • People with an averagely developed Moon Hill have both feet in life and are not easily guided by fantasies and unrealistic expectations.
  • People with a flat moon hill are often unimaginative and have little sense of humor.

To read the hand you can also work with ink prints of hands.
