Coffee – Coffee time, the lifestyle program

For some, every time is coffee time, but for the television makers of the program with that name, the real coffee is mid-morning. Koffietijd is the television program that can be seen on television from Monday to Saturday on RTL 4 from April 2010. Koffietijd wants to be the nicest morning program in the Netherlands. You watch it with a cup of coffee in your hands and at the table the guests are also presented with a fragrant bowl of leut.

Coffee time around coffee time

Coffee time is broadcast around coffee time. The Netherlands drinks coffee between 10 and 11 in the morning. Even those who do not work outside the home drink a cup of coffee at that time and RTL 4 encourages them to do so with a pleasant television program with the TV on on RTL 4. Then Koffietijd is broadcast.

Lifestyle program

The program covers a wide range of topics. Presenters Pernille La Lau, Loretta Schrijver and Quinty Trustfull invite guests who can tell something about lifestyle, home & garden, health & well-being, fashion & beauty, art & culture and cooking. The television chef Caspar Bürgi stands in the television kitchen and prepares a delicious meal every day. He often does this around a theme: budget cooking, without meat or with organic products.

Duo presentation

Koffietijd is a Dutch television program that belongs in the category of lifestyle programs . The name of the program is linked to the time that the Netherlands drinks coffee. Previously there was also a program with that name on Dutch television. From 1994 to 2001, Koffietijd was broadcast daily, also by RTL 4. The program was then presented by the duo Mireille Bekooij and Hans van Willigenburg. In the last season they were replaced by younger presenters: Sybrand Niessen and Judith de Klijn. The viewing figures were disappointing and the program was canceled.

Presenters

Koffietijd will be on TV again from April 5, 2010. RTL 4 broadcasts it and the presenters are the trio Schrijver, Trustfull and La Lau. The three presenters alternate. They always form a duo and the composition of the pairs changes. The presenters have a high human interest level. There is laughter and crying and the three ask their guests the questions that need to be asked. Often from their own experiences. It produces pleasant and interesting television.

Television chef

In addition to the three ladies, there is a leading role for television chef Caspar Bürgi. The top chef can cook like the best, but he can also present ordinary tasty dishes that are easy to make in little time. He says about cooking at Koffietijd:
“They are always things that I like to make at home: everything is for sale at the supermarket, and you rarely spend more than half an hour in the kitchen. Everyone wants good food, but most people are just too busy to spend hours in the kitchen. Now that I have a busy family with two small children, I understand this even better.” Burg said goodbye to the program in 2017. He moves to the south of France to start a B&B with cooking workshops. His place is taken by changing chefs.

Experts

Koffietijd regularly brings in experts to add something to the program on a subject. The experts are, in addition to the television chef:

  • Jan Willem de Jong, gardener
  • Marina van der Wal, parenting expert
  • Mariette van Leeuwen, garden designer
  • Harold Hamersma, wine expert
  • Xaviera Ringeling, web specialist

  • Mariëlle Bastiaansen, hairstylist
  • Martin Arens, veterinarian
